Halifax Port Authority Vice President of Operations & Business Development George Malec was interviewed on the Business News Network's Business Day Panama Canal Special on Wednesday, July 20, 2011. He spoke about how the HPA recognized over 10 years ago that more and more big ships were going to be developed in the container trades globally. The HPA set out to make the port ready for that and focused all investment and strategic development around the reality that more shipping lines are going to invest in these bigger container ships.
